Gotta love the terms “Agile Industrial Complex” and “Dark Scrum” that Martin Fowler uses in this presentation.

It a bit disturbing when the Agile movement which embraced “Individuals and interactions over processes and tools” is misused and morphs into diktats like “If you’re not doing DevOps and using a tool like Kubernetes then you can’t possibly deploy fast enough to qualify as Agile or Scrum.  As the presentation outlines, it is eternally difficult to create fruitful interactions among individuals in widely varying roles as is almost always required to do worthwhile software development work.  Demanding rigid adherence to a particular methodology or toolset for all teams is often more hindrance than help whether the labels “Agile” or “Scrum” apply or not.
